Dear TNOA Members and Annual Training Conference Registrants,
For weeks, the Texas Narcotic Officers Association has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and its impact on the upcoming TNOA Annual Training Conference. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Texas Narcotic Officers Association regrets to announce that we have no choice but to make the necessary decision to cancel the TNOA’s Annual Training Conference originally scheduled for July 20–23, 2020, in San Marcos.
Protecting the health, safety, and well-being of our members and attendees is paramount, and serves as the primary reason for our decision to cancel the TNOA Annual Training Conference for the first time in our 50 year history. There are also questions regarding social distancing and whether or not we will be able to meet in a large group by July. Put simply, canceling the TNOA Annual Training Conference is the right thing to do during this historic time.
We recognize canceling the conference impacts many of you and your education needs. Look for more information on different TNOA educational opportunities throughout the remainder of 2020.
Due to space and timing constraints, TNOA will not be rescheduling this event for a later 2020 date. The next in-person TNOA Annual Training Conference will be held August 23-26, 2021, at the Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center.
We look forward to seeing you in Galveston in August 2021!
Corky Schalchlin, Executive Director
Texas Narcotic Officers Association
