Each year at the TNOA Annual Training Conference we honor many of our members with the TNOA OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARDS. TNOA will accept from any interested person nomination of any TNOA Member to be recognized for outstanding accomplishments during the past year in the area of drug enforcement in each of the following categories:

NARCOTIC OFFICER OF THE YEAR:  There will be one Narcotic Officer of the Year nominated by each region. One of these officers will be recognized as Narcotic Officer of the Year. The remaining three (3) officers will be recognized as Region Narcotic Officers of the Year at the annual conference.

NARCOTIC UNIT OF THE YEAR:  There will be one Narcotic Unit of the Year nominated by each region, and one of these units will be recognized as the Narcotic Unit of the Year at the annual conference.  At least one member of the unit must be a TNOA member.

NON-NARCOTIC OFFICER OF THE YEAR:  There will be one Non-Narcotic Officer of the Year nominated by each region, and one of these officers will be recognized as the Non-Narcotic Officer of the Year at the annual conference.

SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR:  There will be one Supervisor of the Year: nominated by each region, and one of these officers will be recognized as the Supervisor of the Year at the annual conference.

PROSECUTOR OF THE YEAR:  There will be one Prosecutor of the Year nominated by each region, and one of these prosecutors will be recognized as the Prosecutor of the Year at the annual conference. (Membership in TNOA is not a requirement for this Award).

NARCOTIC DETECTOR DOG TEAM OF THE YEAR:   There will be one Narcotic Detector Dog Team of the Year nominated by each region, and one of these detector dog teams will be recognized at the annual conference.

Nominees must have been a member of TNOA prior to January 1, 2010 to be eligible for nomination.

All nominations should be brief and concise.  No more than five typed pages, if possible, is recommended.  One page should be a cover sheet listing the following:

Nomination for (name the Position)
Name of TNOA Member being nominated
Agency, agency address and phone number of TNOA Member being nominated
Name of person making the nomination
Agency, agency address and phone number of person making nomination
Date of submission of nomination
Name, title and region of Regional Officer receiving the nomination and
The date of receipt of the nomination.

PAGE TWO SHOULD CONTAIN SUCH INFORMATION AS:

Family
Education
Professional achievements
Outstanding activities
List the names and addresses of other persons wishing to recommend this person for the award.

THE NEXT PAGE SHOULD:

Set out the specific accomplishments of the nominee in chronological order for the past twelve-month period of time.

THE ABOVE FORMAT IS RECOMMENDED, BUT IS NOT MANDATORY.

The nominations for the above positions must be received by the Regional Vice-Presidents no later than June 1, 2010. The Regional Vice-Presidents will then forward the regional Award Winners to the TNOA President no later than June 11, 2010. 

It is the intention of the Executive Board that everyone nominated will receive all due consideration and at the same time attempt to make this selection process as fair as possible.
